Prank Dogbowl Letters 4 - From the IDA
October 8, 2007

This is the fourth prank dogbowl letter, from the days when petfood manufacturer Albert Reynolds was Taoiseach. The first three were to the then Taoiseach, and this reply from Reynolds, followed by this letter to the Managing Director of the IDA. Now here’s the first reply that I got from the IDA: >>>
First Reply from the IDA
Dear Mr Mackay,
Thank you for your letter of 2 March 1993 regarding the potential commercial viability of manufacturing dog bowls modelled as plexiglass dinner plates.
From your letter it appears that you do not wish to manufacture the product yourself.
Therefore, perhaps the best way to progress your idea would be to talk to existing manufacturers or companies with marketing capability to sell the product nationally or internationally who would then have your product manufactured on a sub-contract basis.
I have asked Mr Colm MacFhionnlaoich from our Small Business Division to make contact with you to discuss your proposal and introduction to potential manufacturers.
Yours sincerely,
Kieran McGowan,
Managing Director, IDA

Hi Michael,
Couldn’t find an email address for you so cheekily decided to put this here…
fustar.org is no more. It has been replaced by fustar.info. If you could amend the link on the right I’d be a most grateful puppy.
