Prank Dogbowl Letters 2 - From Albert Reynolds
October 4, 2007
This is the second of the prank dogbowl letters, from when the dogfood-manufacturing Albert Reynolds was Taoiseach. It’s his reply to this prank letter about a domestic problem with a family’s pet Spaniel: >>>
First Reply from Albert Reynolds
Dear John,
Many thanks for your recent letter and kind sentiments contained therein.
I will certainly make enquiries with the IDA regarding the question of dogfood bowls modelled as dinner plates and I will write to you when I have some news.
I also wish to acknowledge receipt of the £5.00 postal order which you forwarded to the Fianna Fail party and I have asked Mr. Pat Farrell, General Secretary, Fianna Fail to contact you regarding future arrangements if you should wish to contribute.
Best wishes for the future.
Yours sincerely,
Albert Reynolds,
Taoiseach
Next Dogbowl Letter
It was, of course, good to have the Taoiseach on the case. But, just to be sure, I wrote a follow-up letter to the head of the IDA, checking on progress. I’ll publish that here in a couple of days.

Surely whoever wrote the response knew the original was a wind up. Funny all the same.
