Ireland on YouTube Part 2 - Cork
August 25, 2007
‘It’s alright to say, things can only get better - you haven’t lost your brand new sweater!’ Continuing our trip around Ireland as portrayed on YouTube, here are Cork legends Sultans of Ping with Where’s Me Jumper?
Next comes a worthy rival to the Sultans’ iconic status. Slocum63 has uploaded this video of Cork City fan Finbarr on a trip to Iceland, serenading a woman with a drink-assisted version of Mustang Sally.
Four more Cork videos are just a click away - they include
- Mouse racing filmed sideways in a pub in Kilbrittain
- Ray Lally in a public dance-off with Dancing Dave
- Greg O’Halloran doing an impression of Pat Dolan
- A hard-hitting promotional video called Cork, Like.
Here they are, like. >>>
Mouse Racing in Killbrittain
From YouTube user edguyodsell, here is a mouse race in a pub in Killbrittain, filmed sideways with very enthusiastic commentary.
Cork City FC
From YouTube user Rebel 2405, here is Cork City footballer Ray Lally in a public dance-off with local character Dancing Dave. It’s at the opening of the club’s city centre shop in April this year.
And courtesy of 93psy93, here’s Greg O’Halloran doing an impression of former Cork manager Pat Dolan.
Cork, Like
Finally, CatFlem88 has uploaded this promotional video for Cork, in which local tourist chief Tony unveils the inimitable marketing slogan of:
Welcome to Cork. I know we’re not from Dublin, but we ain’t no fucking culchies either down in Cork, you know what I mean. It’s not like we’re from Kerry or whatever, we’re like, we don’t even have a city, but we have a town, and it’s a great fucking town. It’s called Cork town…
Unsurprisingly, he calls the video Cork, Like.
