Ten Most Fertile Places in Rural Ireland

There are three babies (under two years of age) out of every hundred people in Ireland. Jerpoint West in Kilkenny has almost eight babies for every hundred people, making it the most fertile place in the country. And Kilkenny has four of Ireland’s ten most fertile rural places. Here are the top ten. >>>

  • 7.5% - Jerpoint West in Kilkenny (14 babies out of 186 people)
  • 7.3% - Carrick in Kildare (18 babies out of 246 people)
  • 7.0% - Bramblestown in Kilkenny (15 babies out of 214 people)
  • 6.8% - Garrymore in Laoighis (12 babies out of 180 people)
  • 6.3% - Killukin in Roscommon (16 babies out of 256 people)
  • 6.1% - Muckalee in Kilkenny (10 babies out of 163 people)
  • 6.1% - Graigabbey in Galway (18 babies out of 292 people)
  • 6.1% - Roscomroe in Offaly (9 babies out of 148 people)
  • 5.9% - Burnchurch in Kilkenny (28 babies out of 466 people)
  • 5.9% - Cloontra in Clare (12 babies out of 200 people)

The State average is 2.9% (121,000 babies out of 4.17 million people)
