U2 appear in the 200th episode. Homer blags his way into their concert by wearing a green vest and a cap and carrying a sack of potatoes.
Bart discovers that Springfield’s ‘Whacking Day’ was dreamed up ‘as an excuse to beat up the Irish’. An Irishman responds: ‘But ’twas all in good fun.’
When Homer becomes a vigilante, Grampa boasts that he chased the Irish out of Springfield in aught four (Jews were chased out of Limerick in 1904).
In the St Patrick’s Day episode, the Parade floats include ‘The Drunken Irish Novelists of Springfield’ and ‘2000 Years of Irish Cops’.
In the episode when Homer becomes a Catholic, he announces: ‘Face it Marge, Catholics rule! We got Boston, South America, and the good part of Ireland!’

Pierce Brosnan stars as the voice of the house in one of the Halloween episodes. And in the same episode there is a story about catching a leprechaun to uncurse Homer.

Maybe this is a stretch… But the Halloween special with the army of Homer clones? In the pan of the mass of Homers we see Family Guy’s Peter Griffin…
Now, this is obviously an overt reference to Family Guy. However Peter is after all an Irish American, and there are inumerable references to Ireland on that show.
Wait, no, it’s a stretch. Darn.

Well, Peter does actually visit Ireland to find his dad (Micky McFinnegan, the fat stinking town drunk of McSwigggin village) and I don’t think Homer ever did that, so we’ll allow that stretch.
